Dr. Roohi, Ph.D.

Psychologist in San Francisco and Sacramento Area

Clinical Psychologist PSY 24259

I am an Iranian-American psychologist who immigrated to the United States in 1999. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, obtained licensure in California, and completed postdoctoral education in neuropsychology. I have worked with diverse populations across both forensic and clinical settings, providing psychotherapy as well as conducting psychological evaluations and structured risk assessments.

My experience spans inpatient and outpatient environments, where I have assessed and treated individuals presenting with a broad range of psychiatric, neurocognitive, and trauma-related conditions. This breadth of training has contributed to a comprehensive understanding of psychological functioning across varying levels of acuity, complexity, and legal involvement.

My evaluation practice includes forensic evaluations, immigration-related psychological assessments, and competency evaluations. My therapy work integrates meaning-focused approaches, neuropsychology-informed principles, and body-sensory awareness to support emotional regulation and examine the deeper narratives that organize experience.

I am fluent in English and Farsi and have lived and worked in multiple regions internationally. My training includes specialized education in cultural competence and cross-cultural psychological assessment, allowing for careful consideration of cultural, social, and institutional contexts relevant to each case.

My work is guided by a commitment to social justice and the dignity of all individuals, informed by principles that emphasize unity, justice, and the fundamental oneness of humanity. This perspective shapes my attention to cultural, social, and institutional contexts when understanding each person’s psychological experience.
